NICOLAS OSORIO
Sports Director | Valencia Grand
Nicolas (Nico) is originally from Bogota, Colombia, where he was a top ranked junior tennis player. His tennis accomplishments as a junior landed him a full athletic scholarship at Belhaven University—a top five team in the nation. Nico was the Belhaven team captain and competed as the team’s #1 singles and doubles player. After graduation, he served as the Assistant Tennis Coach for the Men’s and Women’s programs, while he simultaneously earned his Masters in Business Administration.
Immediately following his time at Belhaven, Nico worked in New York City for Apple and later for Granier Bakery—where he was their Director of Marketing and Sales. At Granier, Nico helped the company open five new locations. After his experience in the corporate world, he felt compelled to get back to the game that he loves. Since making that transition, Nico has become one of the most well-respected professionals in South Florida. As a tennis professional, Nico has experience at private tennis clubs, large public racquet centers, and tennis academies for high performing juniors and professionals. Most recently, Nico was a lead coach at Evert Academy—where he coached and mentored top junior players ranked top 10 nationally and top 100 internationally.
Nico’s high-level playing and coaching experience, business acumen, and warm personality make him the perfect fit to lead the Valencia Grand sports programs as the Director of Racquets. His primary goal is to create a special environment at the Racquet Center for the residents to enjoy tennis and pickleball with their family and friends. Nico and his team of professionals will strive to provide the highest caliber of service, instruction, and programming for the residents of Valencia Grand.
Nico hold professional certifications with the USPTA and PPR for tennis and pickleball respectively. In addition to his professional experience, he is an avid pickleball player, enjoys soccer, and has completed two marathons.
