ALLINGTON MUTIMER

Director of Tennis | USPTA

“Enjoy the challenge of working to improve your game.”

Allington Mutimer has nearly 30 years coaching experience. He was a full-time coach in Norwich, England, for 17 years. As a player, he represented his county at both the junior and adult levels. As a junior, Allington was coached by master coaches, Martin Smith and Brian Blincoe.

Allington would later become part of their team as a coach himself. Smith produced some of Great Britain’s top players, including but not limited to Chris Bailey, Richard Bloomfield, and James Auckland. Blincoe was widely recognized for bringing “Mini-Tennis” from Sweden to the UK.

In 2004, Allington was awarded the honorable ‘National Coach of the Year’ award by The British Tennis Coaches Association (BTCA) for his outstanding contribution, driving force, and dedication to “creating” players. His experience also includes: coaching juniors to National Junior Championships, ITF levels, and traveling with them throughout Europe and West Africa.

Upon moving to South Florida in 2008, Allington became the Assistant Director of Tennis for the Delray Beach Tennis Center, where he was responsible for managing the city’s 24 court facility—the Delray Swim and Tennis Club. Allington also coached the Center’s Ladies Doubles Teams and reinvigorated the successful Friday Night Mixer and Sunday Round Robin.

Allington dedicates his time and skills to harnessing the energy of boys and girls to help them develop into great players—as well as men and women who share his passion for the game.
