What is contrast therapy and how does it help?
Contrast therapy has been used for centuries to help active individuals rehabilitate from injury. This therapy technique consists of alternating between our cold tub and infrared sauna. The rapid shift between hot and cold creates a flushing effect for lymph fluid and improves circulation.
The athlete should spend three minutes in the infrared sauna and then switch to cold tub for two minutes. Repeating this process for three to six rounds will maximize the benefits.
Due to the physical nature of tennis and the amount of repetition tennis players must perform during practice—contrast therapy is an excellent option to help recover faster from long tournaments and grueling practices.
